After almost 60 years, I’ve had what you might call a varied work life. Estate agency. Medical sales. Mortgage broker. Recruitment. Avid networker. Speaker. Trainer. Postman. (Yes, really. Postman.)
Before AI: The Twitter Years
From 2008-2018, I was one of the UK’s leading authorities on Twitter for business. I spoke across the UK and Europe, trained hundreds of businesses, and did 230+ TV and radio interviews (BBC, Sky News, the lot). Spent a decade explaining to people how a 140 character limit could actually help their business. Simpler times.
Now: The AI Years
These days, I’m learning about AI and how it can be used in the real world. Not as a techie, geek, or nerd.. I’m far too old for that bollocks. I’m figuring it out as someone who’s actually run businesses. Someone who knows the difference between a tool that saves you time and expensive hype that wastes your money.
I build sites with AI. I test tools. I write about what works and what doesn’t. No jargon. No corporate waffle. Just honest takes from someone who’s been around long enough to spot bullshit a mile off.
The Other Stuff
If you want to talk about toast, cheese sandwiches, travel, almond croissants, or Haribo Tangfastics, that’s also fine. Actually, more than fine. Preferred, even.
